I was asked earlier this morning about how one might evade BLT-related trolling attacks. That’s tricky to say, given that I’ve recovered a goodly number of deleted entries from amputee_milfs, and one never knows what might piss me off at any given moment. Even if it’s something you said a year ago and have since deleted.
(kinda makes you wish you’d never said it in the first place, right? You know, LIKE I SUGGESTED before you all started this?)
While I would like nothing better than attacking everyone who has ever set foot in that community until the end of all time, on LJ, off LJ, all over the Internet and IRL, there is one thing that any individual member of amputee_milfs can, in fact, do, to ensure I will stay my hand. I mean, we won’t be friends or anything, but I’ll back off. One simple thing.
Knowing my penchant for symbolism and riddles, obviously I’m not going to just blurt it out, but I will mention this much:
None of the following screen names were trolled last night:
intarwebpolice, rizzo, richey, paramonium, alcoholiday, wicked_queen, cnn_newsroom, astrogirl34
Just sayin.
(ok, ya, I grant you that both richey and astrogirl34 are deleted, but they wouldn’t have been trolled last night even if they weren’t)
Now, think really hard. Strain those little milf brains, I know you can do it. What is it that those screen names all have in common?
There’s your answer.
Introducing A Little Anarchy…
Here are two fun links:
Now, what are those, you may ask? Well, link #1 is a handy-dandy list of every entry in the community amputee_milfs, current through about the beginning of April. Link #2 is the list of entries they deleted, the ones all about me, that, when they got deleted, took more than 4000 comments with them.
Becuase they never discussed me at all, amirite?
That aside, you may still be wondering, why am I sharing these? I mean, they’re all locked entries, after all…
Well, here’s the thing… with the links about me removed, then, by process of elimination, most of the remaining links there are primarily about amputee_milfs‘ other main topic:
STARLA
And, hypothetically, say, if Starla herself was to be reading this blog, why, she could take that list of entries (again, LINK #1), and, well, she could go ahead and file one hell of a major kickass DMCA complaint, citing her pictures, her videos, pretty much anything she’s put online since last August, and probably 90% of those links would have to be removed.
Of course… that… wouldn’t leave all that much of a community, really…
Watch as I shed a tear. Maybe even two.
Then again, maybe not…
Won’t you be my neighbor?
sadistnation (moved away)
You know what’s interesting about these usernames? These are the six members of amputee_milfs who are known to live less than an hour’s drive from me.
That’s been on my mind a lot the past few days for some reason…
I wonder how many more neighbors I have floating around in the GOMS communities?
IP vs. MAC address
Today’s lesson: the difference between an IP address and a MAC address.
Your IP address is basically your face on the Internet. Your fingerprint. It looks kinda like this: 123.123.123.123. It’s the unique number, usually one of a set on a given port, that singularly identifies your Internet connection (thus, several computers sharing one modem will have the same IP address, etc). Now, anyone with a minute amount of computer know-how can change how their IP address appears. There are many, many methods of sharing proxies, masking IPs, etc, etc. You can do it yourself, or there are plenty of programs that do it for you.
Your MAC address is a bit different. It’s a hard-wired serial number, consisting of twelve alphanumerics (1A-2B-3C-4D-5E-6F) that is essentially the code for your specific Internet card. In laptops it’s generally a wireless card, in desktop computers, an ethernet card. This MAC address remains unchanged, no matter what you do to your IP address. So, several machines sharing one modem may all have identical IPs, but they will each have a unique MAC address.
So, what does this mean for masking one’s identity on the Internet?
Quick Thought…
I find it amazing that so many people can waste so many months talking about someone when just a few minutes of talking to them would settle the whole situation…
